You have such a big inventory…where do you find inspiration to continually bring out great new designs?

I love working on ideas and inspirations. I believe in giving a choice to my customers. As a matter of fact, I don’t get enough time to produce my collection in time. As it’s a new company, there are a lot of things to overlook but I’m sure that in due course everything will fall into place. I just have to follow my passion into producing more products.

Do you have a favorite piece?

I love my new Mackintosh Azure bag. It’s a must have. The inspiration behind the bag is Rene Charles Mackintosh. A modern art noveau bag.

What can Black Tangerine fans expect from the line you are currently working on?

A high fashion handbag at a very good price. I have been asked as to why I have priced my bags so reasonably. My philosophy is to reach out to everybody. I want designer products available to all. Classic companies that have worked on very such concepts are Ikea and British award winning website shop ASOS.com

Do you go through any doubts or fears when a collection is released?

Apart from working on my ideas, I am always asking my customers the needs and wants from the products. So the product is a result from ideas put together by myself and the customer.

Besides a perfect handbag, what is the one thing you feel a woman shouldn’t be caught without?

My all time favourite, keychain/coin pouch. They come in various different colours and it’s a must-have for everyone as it's so very handy and practical and cute. So affordable!!! Perfect gift in leather. I’m working on new designs on this very keychain/coin pouch

Q&A with Rashida Kapadia from Black Tangerine

I love a great bag-they somehow make a boring outfit pop and a blah day become anything but!  That's why I was so excited to be introduced to the Black Tangerine line.  Rashida Kapadia's bags are fun and affordable and with new lines out each season, there's always a bag to please.  What I love even more than a great bag is an easy order-their website has an automatic US conversion button so if you happen to be mathematically challenged (like me!) there's no reason to get out your calculator!  The site also offers great jewelry by Jackie Brazil and the cutest cardholders and compact mirrors (perfect for gifts).
