TGE-3Your pieces are very delicate, yet eye catching all at the same time.  How do you achieve that balance?

I feel that even though I try to reinvent my look every season to reflect the newest trends, I still stay true to my customer, who is looking for statement jewelry with a focus on simplicity.  Some of my favorite designs are the most simple at heart, yet its the natural beauty of the stones and how they play off one another that truly make each piece unique and special.

I love your pieces that mix a bright pop of color with more natural stones and woods.  Many people are afraid to wear bold colors in their accessories.  How would you encourage those types of people to wear those pieces?

I would say to start small, try an all wood piece that has just a small pop of turquoise, and wear it with even the mostLucky-S basic outfit, say a white tee and a pair of jeans this spring.  Women who really look the most put together are not the ones who are overloaded with accessories.  You just want to add a pop to your outfit, and if you are scared to go with the turquoise ring, earrings, and necklace all together, start with the earrings and work your way up.  Soon you build up to mixing and matching the bold colors to accent your outfits, and one day you realize you left the house without accessorizing, its like "oh no! I'm naked!"  Baby steps until you get the swing of it!

Your pieces are each unique and individual.  What serves as your inspiration?

I am truly inspired by nature and the seasons.  To see the colors of the fall leaves, or the flowers in bloom in spring, color captures my eye and sends my creative juices flowing!  All the sudden I will go back to the design studio and say I HAVE to make something with fushia and yellow tones!  Outdoors absolutely gets me going!

What do you personally like to pair your jewelry with?

I love vintage inspired jewelry and fashion, so I always have a bit of some antique flair in each collection.  A perfect look for me would be along the lines of...a vintage clutch with a white tank and skinny jeans, and pair of sexy heels, and a fabulous statement necklace.

Tell us all a little about your personal style.

BraceletI'm definitely a comfort girl but love to get dressed up at night.  I'm simple yet love statement items and always like to dress up or dress down the same outfit depending on the time of day with a belt, some cool earrings, or a funky necklace.  I love to take that same look and dress it down for the day with some flats and an accessory or two.  I defnitely love to convert day looks into night and still feel comfortable and cool.  I like to dress without thinking too much about it...just mix, match, and go!

Your pieces are consistently featured in major magazines like Lucky and US Weekly.  What’s it like seeing your pieces on their pages?

I love to see my pieces in press, its such a good feeling to know that the pieces that I design are chosen by top editors to represent "today's fashion" of what's hot or a suggested gift item.  Friends will call and say wow! saw your stuff in US Weekly, and every time I still get the excitement of the first time, its surreal and fantastic!!
Q&A with Danielle Stevens from Danielle Stevens Jewelry

Unique.  Trendy.  Classic.  All accurate descriptions of Danielle Stevens Jewelry, but another word fits the bill even better.  Perfect.  With bracelets as delicate as they are strong, earrings tasteful yet bold, and necklaces with bits of asymmetry yet somehow completely balanced, Danielle Stevens, simply put, gets it.  Small pops of color stand out against traditional metals, making each piece somehow fit with jeans and a tee or your little black dress.  Not having to classify each piece as either "dress" or "casual" ensures extra wearability in a line that's priced beyond reasonable. Celeb fans include Drew Barrymore, Debra Messing, and Kelly Ripa, but don't take their word for it, visit her website (www.daniellestevens.com), or one of the many stores across the country that carries her line.
