My
mouth literally hits the floor every time I visit your website...the
pieces are amazing. Do you ever find yourself in awe?
Over anything in particular?
I get excited over it all, not necessarily over one specific piece. The pieces are gorgeous all with amazing craftsmanship. Recently, a Jaeger-LeCoultre watch that I wanted to take out of the case and wear.
You started small, at a local jewelry exchange. What were your thoughts when you were first starting out?
We didn’t know if it would grow or not. We were in our late 20’s, had just gotten married, and weren’t the type of people to try to predict the future. We didn’t have any money and we just kind of went with it.
Do you remember your first sale?
Yes, I do actually. It was to Dr. Paul Berger who came in with his 3 girls. They picked out a diamond necklace that we had
put all of our money into. It was the first piece we designed, and the
first piece we sold! He introduced us to many future clients and
ironically was our first customer when we opened our first store. You’ve worked with many celebrities, what sticks out amongst those pieces?
There’s a ring we designed for a celebrity couple, a very gorgeous 25 k radiant cut diamond. It really was spectacular. They were just so grateful when they picked it up. They gave us hugs and everything. I also remember a ring with pink diamonds a few years ago for Alanis Morisette. It was actually my original engagement ring.
Tell us a little about your personal style.
I’m
fairly conservative. I’m not a “swirly” person. I like
straight lines (in jewelry too, like emerald cuts). I like to have
fun too, but its mostly traditional and classics mixed with those
pieces. Do you have any fashion advice for women in business?
Wear what you’re comfortable in and you’ll always look gorgeous.
